Admittedly, I am challenged by quantitative subjects, always have been. Statistics was difficult for me. I thought it was the teacher's communications style. But Prof Chatrath's corporate finance class is equally difficult. So I'm going to take some of the responsibility. This man is obviously super knowledgeable and an expert in his field; so much so that maybe teaching a required course (with a mix of skill levels) requires a more remedial teacher, slower pace, or students should be required to take a placement test, then divided up according to skill level. All I know is that in my experience in the class, and from what I've heard from others who've taken it, the tests are always graded on a curve because the the overall class performance is so dismal. And more importantly, I'm not actually learning anything. We're paying almost $4,000 to basically study to barely pass tests. Student reviews at the end of each semester are not making a difference. Thankfully, I have no plans to go into corporate finance. |
